Concerning Sexual Ideation
‘Concerning sexual ideation’ are emerging services in Aotearoa New Zealand to support the mental wellbeing of adults who exhibit concerning sexual ideation, to reduce the chance of them engaging in harmful behaviours.
Budget 19 provided $2.8 million over four years for continued research, design, and development of services to support adults struggling with concerning sexual ideation with the aim to reduce future harmful behaviours.

Research project: Stand Strong, Walk Tall
MSD supported research to design and test an intervention framework to support people with concerning sexual ideation. This included a pilot programme that aimed to prevent childhood sexual abuse in Aotearoa New Zealand through a specialist therapeutic service for adults who experience attraction to children/young people.
