Working with Pacific people

A Pacific Strategy and Action Plan will be developed to improve the overall wellbeing of our Pacific families and communities.

The first step toward this goal is the formation of steering and reference groups which will inform the creation, development and implementation of the strategy and action plan.

The Pacific Steering Group will ensure there are competent and experienced Pacific leaders that can govern and steer the successful development and implementation of the strategy and action plan.

The Pacific Reference Group will ensure that actions and initiatives that come out of the strategy and action plan are effective for Pacific.

Timeframes and consultation processes for the development of the strategy and action plan are still to be set.

Formation of steering and reference groups

Social Development Minister Carmel Sepuloni announced the formation of both groups at MSD’s National Office in February 2019.
