Te Pikitia a te Whānau Technical Report presents the following key findings.
- Te Pikitia a te Whānau is robust in its use across different Māori demographic groupings, meaning that it can accommodate different and diverse Māori life experiences.
- Urban, low-income, and culturally disconnected youth were found to be the most vulnerable Māori group, in terms of reporting lower levels of whānau wellbeing.
- Collective (communal, and shared) approaches to measurement are highly important to consider when working with whānau Māori.
Te Pikitia a te Whānau Technical Report also identifies that Te Pikitia a te Whānau is significant as it:
- provides whānau with a tool to support positive changes in their wellbeing journeys
- improves the monitoring and evaluation capacities of E Tū Whānau
- highlights priority demographics for policy seeking to improve whānau wellbeing
