Service delays at Work and Income and StudyLink

Ministry of Social Development Deputy Chief Executive Service Delivery Ruth Bound says people can expect delays in frontline services over the next few days.

“All Work and Income, StudyLink and Senior services are operating but an upgrade to our client management IT system over the weekend has seen a slowing down of some services,” says Ms Bound.

People calling our contact centre or visiting our offices may have to wait longer than usual. Clients can continue to access online services through MyAccount and MyStudyLink.

“The upgrade doesn’t affect our payment system and clients will continue to receive their payments as usual.

“I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause some people,” says Ms Bound. We are working hard to restore service levels to their usual levels as quickly as possible.
