Investing in New Zealand's Children and Their Families

07 April 2016.

MSD Chief Executive Brendan Boyle welcomed the release of the Final Report of the Expert Panel - Investing in New Zealand’s Children and Their Families.

"This final report builds on the Panel’s Interim Report released in September 2015 and the CYF modernisation work that MSD commenced in 2014. It charts a way forward that will effectively refocus the entire system – government, community, NGOs - on vulnerable children.

"The change to the system anticipated by the report will, I believe, drive the sort of fundamental change in thinking around vulnerable children that will make a real difference.

"The report also acknowledges the great work that CYF already does. This report reflects many of their concerns and aspirations.

"I want to once again thank all of my staff who are on the frontline everyday working with vulnerable New Zealanders, for their on-going commitment to their jobs.

"While it is too early to give definitive information on what this report means for MSD at an organisational level, MSD is committed to working with our social sector colleagues to ensure a brighter future for our vulnerable kids," Mr Boyle said.
