Maximum payment rates

New Zealand Superannuation payments are made fortnightly into your bank account, on a Tuesday. 

What you are paid depends on your personal circumstances. Here are some of the more common rates of payment:

NZ Superannuation and Veteran's Pension rates at 1 April 2011

Pension type	Net weekly rate (after tax at ‘M’ code)
Single, living alone	$339.92
Single, sharing	$313.78
Married, civil union or de facto couple,  one qualifies Married, civil union, or de facto couple, both qualify (total)	$261.48 $522.96
Married, civil union, or de facto couple, only one partner qualifies and the other partner is “included” in payments (total)	$497.02

Living alone payment

An ongoing extra payment on top of your New Zealand Superannuation or Veteran's Pension, when you maintain a household on your own. You may also get this payment in some situations, when you have a spouse or partner, or are not living on your own.
