Positive Ageing Strategy

The Positive Ageing Strategy, initiated and maintained by the Ministry of Social Development, aims to improve the opportunities for seniors to participate in their communities.

By adapting the community to better suit your needs and wants as an older person, this strategy will ensure that everyone benefits; the growing proportion of older people, the community and the country as a whole.

A few, among many, examples of the types of objectives this plan intends to fulfil are:

• secure and adequate income for older people
• affordable and accessible transport options for older people
• helping older people to feel safe and secure in their communities
• increasing opportunities for personal growth and community participation.
