In the aftermath of the earthquake there are many agencies that can help you, your family and whānau. This fact sheet outlines the services available and how you can apply for help.

People feeling upset or stressed, or are in need of other social support, as a result of the earthquake are being encouraged to call the Quake Support and Counselling Services Helpline 0800 777 846.

Coping with stress and anxiety
The Ministry of Health provides fact sheets to help you, your family and your community to:
- understand common emotional reactions to the earthquakes
- learn positive ways of coping
- identify when to get extra help that will enable you to cope better.
