The 2009 application round opens on 30 June and closes on 26 September 2008. Applications for the Social Work Study Awards can be made by any social worker employed by an NGO who is enrolled in or intending to enroll in a course that is recognised by the Social Workers Registration Board (SWRB).

Indicators of social wellbeing in New Zealand The Social Report provides information on the social health and wellbeing of New Zealand society. It will be released on the 28th of August 2008.
Arlene Morgan of Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, New York will compare the New Zealand media scene with her experiences in the United States. Presented by The Office of Ethnic Affairs and the Ministry of Social Development.
