Working for Families Evaluation

The Working for Families Evaluation has been jointly conducted by the Ministry of Social Development and Inland Revenue Department. It aimed to assess:

  • The implementation and delivery of the package as a whole and its components.
  • The impact of the package in ensuring that families get their entitlements (package receipt), including identifying barriers and facilitators to receiving the package.
  • The impact of the package on net incomes, income poverty and living standards for all those affected by the changes, especially for low-to-middle income families with dependent children.
  • The degree to which the package improves employment-related outcomes for adults from low-to-middle income families with dependent children.

Changing Families’ Financial Support and Incentives for Working

Changing Families’ Financial Support and Incentives for Working: The summary report of the evaluation of the Working for Families package is the final report of the Working for Families evaluation. It summarises the findings and includes some new findings from the evaluation which have not been published previously. Data reported covers the implementation of Working for Families up until the tax year ending 31 March 2008, with some later data included where this is available.

Receipt of the Working for Families package 2006

The Receipt of the Working for Families Package 2006 report describes public awareness of the package and who is receiving WFF entitlements to the end of August 2006. The Receipt of the Working for Families Package: 2007 Update provides a summary of the programme through the tax year ending March 2007 and progress to the end of August 2007.

The summary describes the major findings of this research, while the technical report describes the methodologies used in the analysis and contains detailed results.
