Recovery Assistance Centres

Recovery Assistance Centres provide a wide range of support to people needing help after the recent Christchurch earthquake.

Recovery services have transitioned from Recovery Assistance Centres to be delivered from more sustainable long-term locations, to provide information and assistance within local communities for those affected by the earthquake.

Fletcher Hubs are located throughout the community to provide assistance to homeowners.

Recovery assistance centres provide a one-stop-shop, to help the people of Christchurch recover from the recent earthquake. They provide information, as well as access, to a number of services, including; Victim Support, Inland Revenue, Housing New Zealand, City Housing, Work and Income, counselling and budgeting services.

The five recovery assistance centres can be accessed Monday to Friday, from 9am (9.30am Wednesday for services based in a Work and Income site) to 4:30pm. They are located at:

  • Kaiapoi Community Centre, 24 Sewell Street
  • Department of Labour, 144 Kilmore Street
  • Linwood Community Link, 154 Aldwins Road
  • Heartland Services, Hornby, 25 Shands Road
  • Work and Income, New Brighton, 26 Beresford Street.
