The Social Report 2009 key facts and key summary points.

The Social Report 2009 charts New Zealand's progress across 43 social indicators ranging from health to paid work and safety.  The report includes information on how different population groups are faring and how New Zealand compares to other countries.

The Social Report, which is updated annually, provides information at a national and regional level.  Data is provided for each of New Zealand's regions for 22 indicators, and at the territorial authority level for 21 indicators.

The Ministry of Social Development has produced the Social Report since 2001.
