Prime Minister John Key today announced details around the $84.544m Fresh Start and Break-Away programmes - providing targeted help for young people at risk of poor outcomes, including serious young offenders.

The programmes comprise of:

  • new Break-Away initiatives that will increase and improve the range of school holiday and youth development opportunities for young people whose families may not be able to provide them.

We are currently developing these programmes, including the criteria and funding for each. We will update the Questions and Answers in the below fact sheets as these programmes progress.
