The Te Puna Whaiora Board and the Ministry of Social Development have today agreed to proceed with a financial review of funding for Health Camp services.

The Ministry of Social Development's Deputy Chief Executive Ray Smith said a meeting this morning was successful in identifying a way forward in ensuring that all of the issues impacting on the Board's financial situation can be considered over the next six weeks.

"I'm very pleased that we have been able to agree to a sensible and timely process that will allow the Ministry to better understand the Board's funding needs.

"Health camps are an iconic and hugely valuable resource for troubled children and their families.  We are committed to working closely with the Board to ensure this service remains available to New Zealanders," said Ray Smith.
