Making it easier to run Community and Voluntary Services
A new catalogue that lists organisational resources available for people running community and voluntary organisations has been published by the Ministry of Social Development.

The catalogue, "Managing Well: resources for community and voluntary organisations", lists over 120 written resources, websites, newsletters, manuals and information sheets and other documents that provide information related to running an organisation. It also includes a directory of organisations that provide capacity-building support for the community and voluntary sector.

Richard Wood, Ministry of Social Development Deputy Chief Executive, Family and Community Services said the catalogue is available as a hard copy from Family and Community Services. It can also be accessed online at Community Net Aotearoa.

Mr Wood said this was the first time that information of this type has been collected together and published for the New Zealand not-for-profit sector.

"The catalogue provides resources that help people run their organisations effectively, so they can focus their efforts on delivering services and contributing to their communities," he said.

"We welcome suggestions for further resources that can be included in the next edition of the catalogue."

The catalogue is part of a project to build capacity in community and voluntary sector organisations. This is a joint initiative of Family and Community Services and the Office of the Community and Voluntary Sector.
