Budget fact sheets 2008 - Youth Justice Central

The Government is investing an additional $6.5 million over the next four years towards the operating costs of the proposed Youth Justice Central facility.

This funding will also support two self-care units which will aid the rehabilitation process of young people moving back into the community. The funding increases the overall bed numbers in the facility to 30.

The increased capacity is required to meet the growing numbers of supervision with residence orders.

Youth Justice Central, the fourth purpose-built facility of its kind, is scheduled to be completed and fully operational by 2010.
