Budget fact sheets 2008 - more discounts for SuperGold Card holders
The Government is investing an additional $90 million over the next four years in enhancing the concessions available to SuperGold Card holders.
$72 million is being invested over four years to provide free off-peak travel to SuperGold Card holders on all forms of public transport.
The Ministry of Transport is working with Regional Councils and transport providers to implement this policy, with details of launch dates to be announced.
In addition, $18 million is being invested over four years to increase the hearing aid subsidy, for those who are eligible, from $198 to $500 per person for SuperGold Card holders over 65.
This is available to people who have had their hearing aids fitted on or after 1 October 2008.
